LEAMON, LEMON, MAYER, MEYER, MYERS posted by David Lemon on Sunday, February 6, 2000

Some genealogies indicate William McClure LEMON or LEAMON (born April 1808 in Perry county, Penn.) married Martha Catherine MEYER (or MYERS or MAYER) on 7 Mar 1826 in Bucyrus, Crawford, Ohio. I wonder if this can be confirmed from local sources, and whether any other information about William LEMON in Bucyrus exists. William had an older brother named John LEMON (born Penn in 1806), who might have also been in Bucyrus around this time. By 1829 or so, John had moved to Indiana and William was in Indiana in the 1830s. David Lemon

Her name was Emily FLEMMING SHANK wife of Henry SHANK Sr. She was born in Fayette Co, PA after 1807 and married there before 1831. I believe she was Mennonite. She lived with Henry in Tuscarawas Co., OH before moving to Richland Twp., Allen/Putname Co. In the 1840 census, this twp was in Putnam; in the 1850 census it was in Allen Co.
