My grandfaher John TORDOFF, a rairoad machinist, and his wife Margaret, lived in Galion from the early 1870's until 1880 or 1881. I would like to know the name of the Township in which Galion is located. And, If any one knows the names of the railroads that had maintenance shops in Galion at that time, that information would also be much apptrciated. Thank you.

My Grandfather was Sidney HOSFORD (1874-1922) from Gallion, Crawford County, Ohio. He married Catherine KOHLER (1880-1959). They had 11 children. I am Beginning to compile info for a family history but, do not have any information on my ancestors prior to Sidney HOSFORD or Catherine KOHLER, or their siblings. Any information such as names, dates, locations, tales, etc., or other resources I might try would be greatly appreciated.

Searching for any information on the family of my great grandparents Joseph A. SMITH and Cora Lee (HAMMAN) SMITH who moved to Galion, Crawford County in the early 1900's from Woodstock, VA. Children were my grandfather Ray Cook SMITH (died July 5, 1927, Marion, Ohio) and Joseph H. SMITH (died Aug 22, 1983, Galion, Crawford County, OH). Joseph H. SMITH and Della (MILLER) SMITH had a son named Delbert SMITH who may still live in the Galion/Crawford area. Would appreciate any help.

I am looking for information about my grandfather, Graydon Vincent STEVENS, born in Crawford County area (possibly in the Tiro area). Would like to find out his parents name, and the name of any of the area orphanages he may have lived in. Also would like to find out background on Willis and Nora BROWN, and how they may have been related to him. (Marriage license found in bible given to him at the orphanage) Graydon STEVENS birthdate is June 28, 1896, and he died in March of 1963. Much of his life is a mystery to our family and would like to find any information that you may have. Thank you very much!!!

I am researching the HOTELLING family. Christian, George, and families were listed on the 1850 Holmes Twp., Crawford Co. census but under the name HOTEL. Christian's wife was Lydia who died August 13,1876 and is buried in Benton Cemetary, Texas Twp., Crawford Co. I believe that Christian and Lydia were George's parents but have not been able to confirm. If anyone has information on this family or their descendants I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks!

Searching for information on the family of Theodore " Ted" SAWYER. He was born on December 29, 1904. He was supposedly a doctor. He died in March 1980 and lived in Crestline, Ohio in Crawford County.

She married Louis Augustus MCELDOWNEY in Erie MI Aug.12, 1862 and moved back to OH while her husband served in the Civil War. One son was born in OH Fred MCELDOWNEY, in 1863, and possibly a daughter Nora. But it is the COOPER ancestors we need to know more about. Thank you

Subject: HESS, Daniel=1839 Have a reference that a Daniel HESS purchased land through Tiffin Land Office in Crawford County on 13 April 1829. Do you know if there is a reference to this gentleman or in Family in early Crawford County History. Am seeking information on two brothers=Samuel and Solomon HESS that would have been born abt 1785-95. don't know state of birth but a descendant of Solomon was living near a Daniel HESS in Oregon in 1850's. Any help appreciated. Know its not much to go on=thanks joe
