Know all men by these presents that we John Adam Miller and Ann Mariah Miller wife of said John Adam Miller of the County of Crawford Ohio in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars in hand paid by Jacob Miller of the same place the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and hereby grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Jacob Miller his heirs and assigns forever the following premises situate in Crawford County Ohio and in the District of Land subject to sale at Marion Ohio. The said tract of land is described and known as being the East half of the South East quarter of Section number Six in township No. two South of Range Sixteen East containing eighty acres more or less. To have and to hold the said premises with appurtenances unto the said Jacob Miller his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Adam Miller for himself and heirs doth hereby covenant with Jacob Miller his heirs and assigns that he is lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid that the premises are free and clear from all encumbrances whatsoever and that he will forever warrant and defend the same with appurtenances unto the said John Miller his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whosoever. In testimony whereof the said John Adam Miller and said Ann Mariah Miller have hereunto set their hands and seals this eighth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one. On the eighth day of October A D 1841 personally appeared before me Edward Porter one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County the within named John Adam Miller and Ann Mariah Miller his wife both personally known to me to be the individuals mentioned in the within instrument and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the same to be their act and deed to the full intent and meaning thereof and directed that the same be Recorded as such the said Ann Mariah Miller being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband and upon such separate examination she did from her own free will voluntarily fix seal and acknowledge the within instrument by writing without any concern or compulsion on the part of her said husband and that she is still satisfied herewith. Given under my hand seal officially, the day and year aforesaid.
