CLEMENTS, DWINNELL, LEE, MCCLASKEY, PETTETT, WERT, WEST posted by Coralie J. Allen on Thursday, May 4, 2000

In the 1830s, one Robert LEE was the official--church or secular--who performed the Leesville marriage not only of my gr gr grandparents' but also of several of my gr gr grandfather's siblings. In the 1840s, one John PETTETT [or is it John R. MILLER--very hard to read], "Minister of the Gospel in Bieyers [difficult to read, too]" performed the ceremony for another family member. Another family member was joined in marriage by a George WEST or WERT. Who were these men? With what organization were they affiliated? Can anybody help me or point me to a resource where I could find out? Thank you very much, in advance. (Researching MCCLASKEY, DWINNELL, CLEMENTS, WEST and others in Crawford/Richland County.) My GGGrandfather's sister, Hortense CAMP, married an unknown LEE and I am trying to find a connection. She was born in 1858 probably in Marion County; the family is listed in the Polk Township 1870 and 1880 censuses. I believe they were living in Galion at that time. My CAMPs were in and around Delaware, Marion and Crawford Counties. In 1892, after my GGGGrandfather Hiram Silvester CAMP died, Hortense CAMP LEE was mentioned on a probate document, living in Delaware, OH. She was also known as "Tot." I don't know if she and her husband LEE had any children. Thanks for any help! Whitney Waters.

DIDLO, DIDLOW, STEIN, TITLOW posted by Stan Titlow on Monday, May 8, 2000

My ancesters, Abraham DIDLO and wife,Catherine STEIN DIDLO, were in Crawford County, Bucyrus Township, with their family during the 1840 census. Abraham is listed on roll 388, page 6, counted June 14,1840. DIDLO was in Centre township, Union County, Pa, for the 1830 census. So, between 1830 and 1840 he moved his family to Ohio. I found his family in Clark County, Mad River Township, Roll 666, Page 65, 241-241, for the 1850 census. His name was spelled "DIDLOW", but his sons wrote their last name as "TITLOW". Abraham's childern were George, Mary, John, Arron, Lucy, Henry, Priscilla, and Lavinia. Your assistance of any information or any mention of other family members may help me locate Abrahams fathers name. Thank you, Stan Titlow, 6340 I-45 North, Houston, Texas 77076

Need verification of ancestor death and burial of James DECKER and his wife Jane LUKE DECKER. Indications that he died between 1830-40 and no idea on her, but certain they were in Crawford Co. Two children, Aaron is buried in Oakwood Cemetery and Emma TRIMBLE is buried in Liberty U.B. Chapel Cemetery. May have been other children.
