CLEMENTS, DWINNELL, LEE, MCCLASKEY, PETTETT, WERT, WEST posted by Coralie J. Allen on Thursday, May 4, 2000

In the 1830s, one Robert LEE was the official--church or secular--who performed the Leesville marriage not only of my gr gr grandparents' but also of several of my gr gr grandfather's siblings. In the 1840s, one John PETTETT [or is it John R. MILLER--very hard to read], "Minister of the Gospel in Bieyers [difficult to read, too]" performed the ceremony for another family member. Another family member was joined in marriage by a George WEST or WERT. Who were these men? With what organization were they affiliated? Can anybody help me or point me to a resource where I could find out? Thank you very much, in advance. (Researching MCCLASKEY, DWINNELL, CLEMENTS, WEST and others in Crawford/Richland County.) My CAMPs were in and around Delaware, Marion and Crawford Counties. My ancesters, Abraham DIDLO and wife,Catherine STEIN DIDLO, were in Crawford County, Bucyrus Township, with their family during the 1840 census. Abraham is listed on roll 388, page 6, counted June 14,1840. DIDLO was in Centre township, Union County, Pa, for the 1830 census. So, between 1830 and 1840 he moved his family to Ohio.
